Description
Crispy, cheesy smash burger tacos made with beef, tortillas, and melty cheese. A perfect fusion of taco and burger night, ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
8 small corn or flour tortillas
1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Burger sauce or chipotle mayo
Pickles or pickled onions (optional)
Cooking oil or spray
Instructions
1. Divide the ground beef into 8 equal-sized balls.
2. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.
3. Place one beef ball on the skillet, then press a tortilla on top and smash firmly with a spatula.
4. Let it cook for 1–2 minutes until the beef crisps and browns.
5. Flip the tortilla with the beef attached. Immediately add cheese and let it melt, about 30–60 seconds.
6. Remove and repeat with remaining beef and tortillas.
7. Serve hot with burger sauce, pickles, or toppings of your choice.
8. Enjoy while crispy!
Notes
Avoid overhandling the beef to maintain texture.
Add sliced jalapeños or grilled onions for extra flavor.
Pairs great with slaw, fries, or dipping sauces.
